Dear Mr. Bean:

On behalf of our client Techstars Central LLC (“Techstars”), their employees, and their Board of Directors, we are writing to you because your repeated emailing, messaging and postings regarding Techstars and its extended network over the past several months has been unwanted, alarming, and harassing. While Mr. Cohen offered a phone call with you to discuss concerns you have with Techstars, your many aggressive responses to his offer — beginning within an hour after his offer and ongoing to this day — have caused extreme alarm and concern. The obsessive behavior you are engaging in, including the incessant barrage of messages, comments, posts, contacts, and ongoing attempts to extort, intimidate, harass, and taunt Mr. Cohen and others affiliated with Techstars are causing extreme distress.

Your persistent and obsessive pattern of contact is alarming, serves no legitimate purpose, interferes with Techstars and these individuals' ability to enjoy their life, is negatively impacting their reputation and their ability to perform their professional obligations and commitments and has risen to the level of harassment that is causing severe emotional distress. At this time, we are in consultation with the local, state, and federal authorities due to the level of harm you are causing.

This letter serves as our formal demand that you immediately cease and desist all attempted contact and communication, which includes any and all contact in person, virtually, online, through social media, email, text messages, chats, or through any other form of technical communication with any employees, staff, board members of Techstars, or with their families, and with any known clients of Techstars. Further, you officially are on notice that you are trespassed from and ordered to stay away from any and all areas where Techstars may be hosting any events or has any functioning spaces. You are not welcome at, and are officially trespassed from, any and all Techstars events and locations where Techstars operates or where Techstars is hosting any events or gatherings — including, but not limited to, the upcoming Foundercon conference in Boulder, Colorado, as well as from all activities surrounding this conference. Through your repeated contacts it is abundantly clear you are aware of the upcoming conference and its location.

Justin, your conduct is alarming and severely concerning to all of Techstars as well as a large number of people in the Techstars' network who have reached out to Techstars with concerns about the tenor and obsessive quality of your online communications. Please be advised that any future attempt by you to contact any staff, employee, client, board member or their family members through any means, including but not limited to: blocked or unblocked calls, texts, voicemails, emails, chats, letters, social media, posts, comments on posts, appearing in person, appearing virtually, or via a third party at your direction of via messages of any sort will be in direct defiance of this cease and desist directive and we will proceed with any and all legal remedies available, both civilly and/or criminally to end this harassment. Any attempt to attend or interfere with Foundercon 2025 will be considered trespassing and law enforcement will immediately be notified. Should you not immediately cease and desist every form and manner of contact with Techstars, its employees, clients, staff, board members and their families, we will take the steps we must to protect our community, its emotional health, and physical safety.

Sincerely,

Shana R. Beggan
